IMI PRODUCTION
IMI production is an independent umbrella housing for creative works in one way or another related to me, Jimmie Olsson. It houses musical projects/bands, film/videos, photography and recording. There is also a shop where you can buy items, download music, pictures or other stuff and find links to the different works of your own choice.

ABOUT ME
My background lay in the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) underground community with selfreleased demo cassettes and music records, fanzines and selfmade and -funded goods. The biggest field I've been active in is in music since many years, but other fields of interest have been added and in 2013 the idea of a central meeting point for all different parts ended up in IMI production.
I was born in Sweden 1972 and have been a musician/artist in various bands, and also been active in several other creative fields since the age of around fifteen. 1990-1997 I was the leadsinger, guitarist and songwriter in the grungepunkband SObER, and was one of the original members of No Fun At All.
In 2000 I moved on to Speedking, after a short project called The God Damn Sons of Bitches, and since 2002 I've been active as my alter ego jIM dIMZEY which nowadays is my main musical project.
I like to change shape every now and then (I'm a very restless soul and easily bored) and that's why I started IMI production. It gathers all the stuff I do within the same place, i.e. one house for all the creative fields I'm working in.
In some of the fields I'm just a beginner — the happy amateur — others have been my actual trade for a while.
But all of them lay very close to my heart, and hopefully the outcome of my efforts is joyful even for you!
Please welcome in and check out some great stuff!

MY BELIEFS
- I believe in independence. I believe that independent do-it-yourself making is a great way to keep your stuff creative and original.
- I believe in creating things with the present means and current knowledge and just hang 'em out there is the best way to adopt, adapt and improve (to use a classic Monty Python quote).
- I believe that you can reach your audience even with small funds, the right approach and suitable marketing without spending hundreds and thousands of kronor (or Euros, Dollars, Pounds etc).
- I believe in small businesses with the guts to try new things, the courage to bet on the unique expressions and the passion to appreciate products not only produced by professionals run through an abundance of "experts" who first must make a judgement of the potential to make "a hit", sell and become "number one" before investing in an artist or else.
- I believe in the happy amateur. I believe that everyone must start out as an non professional. I believe that without hobbyists willing to share their works there would be no stars.
- I believe that among all "amateurs" there are millions of creative people that are just as good as any professional and therefor is worth a spot in the buzz of the music industry, the intricating art world, the photographers club and the filmmakers flare.
MY AIM
Despite all of the above, the small-scale approach, I am aiming at the big crowds. Of course – who isn't?
I'm coming from a world that almost condemn the big market and the idea of winning the mainstream hearts. I think that's bullshit and hypocrisy. Everyone who love to create stuff want the same stuff to be recognized by others.
And yes, you want the world to buy it and love it, don't even try to convince me otherway! ;)
And if the world knows about it, and loves it, and buys it – well, congratulations resister! You've officially became mainstream, wether you like it or not.
Just be glad that you did it yourself, and didn't had to pay a million to get there!
